Holiday resort of Playa de Las Americas

The holiday resort of Playa de Las Americas (simply known as Las Americas) is situated on the south coast of Tenerife between Los Cristianos and Torviscas and is some 15/20 minutes drive from the airport reina Sofia.

The resort the most popular on the island is an exciting, bright and busy mixture of things to do and see. Purpose built it now plays host to some of the finest beaches on the island with beach and water sports to woo the keenest of athletes including surfing, jet-skiing, hang-gliding, parascending, diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and so many more the list is endless. The beaches are laid out with parasols and cater for all ages.

There are a number of restaurants, bars and cafes that line up along the beachfronts with well known names like Mc Donalds, Burger King and many more so you´ll always find somewhere to eat during the daytime.

Shopping precincts are dotted about all over the resort with a wide array of different shops like Jewellers, Souvenir Shops, Designer Clothes, Eletronics, Cameras, Cigarettes and more. Shops tend to open early and close during siesta then re-open late afternoon until about 10.00pm. Some of the beach front shops tend to stay open during the siesta nowadays.

Night time is when Las Americas comes alive with an abundance of bars, restaurants and fun pubs there is something for everyone in this lively resort. There are many venues offering live music and cabarets every night of the week, some with large screens to cover major football games and others with quieter activities like quizes and yep I have to say it BINGO. Did you know there is also a large BINGO HALL in Las Chafiras?
