Schools in Tenerife - Private and State
A very important part of your decision making
if you are thinking of coming to Tenerife to live if you
have children is the school and education facilities that
exist on the island. Like most places Tenerife has Private
and state schools availabe. We have listed below some pointers
to think about when considering sending your children to
school in Tenerife.
1. Entry Requirements for Private Schools
Entry requirements vary from school to school and I would
advise that you look at all possibilities before making
your choice. I have listed below some of the main English
private schools in the south of Tenerife for your consideration.
2. Requirements for State Schools
Traditionally, parents needed a whole list of requirements
befor their child could be considered for a state school
including reports etc but the rules have since eased and
although not necessary anymore here's an idea of what
was needed just in case you want to take them.
NIE/Residencia
Birth Certificate
School Reports
Medical Vaccination/Card
Passport/s
Photographs each child (Not Digital)
A FULL Birth Certificate is required showing the fathers
name
It is worth mentioning at this stage that your child, indeed
the whole familys medical cards are updated and its also
worth having the whole family receive the Tetanus injection
- this will avoid any unneccessary injections when they
first attend school.
